Jing Xiao received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan. She is an IEEE Fellowand Professor of Computer Science, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA. ProfessorXiao is the Site Director of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/UniversityCooperative Research Center on Robots and Sensors for the Human Well-being. She receivedthe 2015 CCI Outstanding Faculty Research Award, and one of her PhD graduates received the2016 Graduate Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award. Professor Xiao also received the2016 IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Distinguished Service Award. She is the VicePresident for Member Activities of RAS in her 2nd two-year term.
