Yun-Hui Liu received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo in 1992. After workingat the Electrotechnical Laboratory of Japan as a Research Scientist, he joined The ChineseUniversity of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 1995 and is currently a Professor at the Department ofMechanical and Automation Engineering and the Director of the CUHK T Stone RoboticsInstitute. He is also an adjunct professor at the State Key Lab of Robotics Technology andSystem, Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He is an IEEE Fellow and the Editor-in-Chiefof Robotics and Biomimetics. His research interests include visual servoing, medical robotics,multifingered grasping, mobile robots, and machine intelligence. He has published over 300papers in refereed journals and refereed conference proceedings and was listed in the HighlyCited Authors (Engineering) by Thomson Reuters in 2013. Dr. Liu has received numerousresearch awards from international journals and international conferences in robotics andautomation and government agencies.
