Professor Massimiliano Zecca is Chair of Healthcare Technology at LoughboroughUniversity, UK, in the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering(EESE), where he leads the Wearable BioRobotics research group. He is also a key member ofSTI, the Sports Technology Institute of Loughborough University, and of NCSEM, the NationalCentre for Sport and Exercise Medicine. Before joining Loughborough University Prof. Zeccaworked in Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, from 2003 to 2013, and in Scuola SuperioreSant’Anna, Pisa, Italy, from 1999 to 2003. His main research interests are the observation andthe analysis of the human being, which can be seen as an extreme and exquisite example ofrobotic system, and the quantification of their capabilities in high dexterous tasks: laparoscopicsurgery, neurosurgery, gait, human-robot emotional and musical interaction, and so on.
