Allison M. Okamura is a Professor at Stanford University in the Mechanical Engineeringdepartment and has a courtesy appointment in Computer Science. She has been Editor-in-Chiefof the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation Conference, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and an Editor of the International Journalof Robotics Research. She is an IEEE fellow and has won awards for research and teaching.Her academic interests include haptics, teleoperation, virtual environments and simulators,medical robotics, neuromechanics and rehabilitation, prosthetics, and education. She directs theCollaborative Haptics and Robotics in Medicine (CHARM) Laboratory.
