In September1965, he received his degree in Industrial Electrification and Automation fromSchool of Electrical Engineering & Automation, Harbin Institute ofTechnology. He is now researcher at Shenyang Institute of Automation of ChineseAcademy of Sciences, doctoral supervisor, deputy director of Marine RoboticsDepartment, associate editor of Robot, member of the 9th National Committee ofthe Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and counsellor ofCounsellors' office of Shenyang Municipal Peoples' Government. He is one of thefirst experts engaged in marine robotics in China.
